BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIST
The Business Development Strategist is a consultative sales leader responsible for driving revenue growth by partnering with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and healthcare advertising agencies to develop strategic marketing solutions across Healio’s omnichannel portfolio.
This role goes beyond selling media—it requires understanding brand objectives, identifying business challenges, and recommending integrated solutions that connect healthcare professionals with meaningful educational and promotional experiences.
Success in this position is built on developing trusted relationships, uncovering new opportunities, and delivering measurable value for clients while consistently exceeding revenue goals.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, strategic thinker with exceptional relationship-building skills, strong business acumen, and a passion for helping healthcare brands achieve commercial success.
Key responsibilities include:
· sales and business development which includes pipeline strategy, growing new and established accounts;
· strategic client partnerships by serving as a trust advisor of goals, strategy and overall performance including, but not limited to, advertising channels, such as digital display, print, podcasts, email marketing and videos;
· pipeline and revenue management;
· client engagement;
· cross-functional collaboration; and
· operational excellence.

Qualifications include:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience;
· 3-8 years of proven success in advertising, media, healthcare, or pharmaceutical sales;
· strong consultative selling and relationship management skills;
· excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities;
· demonstrated ability to build executive-level relationships with clients and agency partners;
· strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills;
· experience managing sales opportunities within SalesForce or similar CRM platform; and
· self-motivation with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Preferred experience includes:
· experience selling healthcare media or pharmaceutical advertising solutions;
· knowledge of pharmaceutical brand marketing and agency planning processes; and
· experience selling digital advertising, programmatic media, sponsored content, or omnichannel marketing solutions.
Extensive travel is required, including overnight and weekend travel. Applicants must have access to a reliable vehicle for work-related travel. Necessary travel may fall over holidays or personal commitment dates. As an exempt employee compensation time/days are not awarded. Professional attire is required.
The annual base salary for this position is $60,000 to $80,000. Placement within this range is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, knowledge, skills, education, years and level of experience, and equity with internal team members. Employees living within a 50-mile radius to our office in Thorofare, NJ will be scheduled to work at this location 2 days per week.
